About Face Wrinkles
There is always that feeling of jubilation when somebody tells us that we look years younger than our age, and perhaps if we try to put ourselves in that person's shoes, we feel that the major reason for this is that we see from the other his or her healthy, young, and glowing skin.
Living in this era, we all could have been used to the fact that growing older is inevitable, but growing gracefully is an ultimate goal. Most of the time, that growing, or aging gracefully translates to more than just taking pleasure in our ideal lifestyle, but rather it is looking younger than what people expect from our real age.
Let's face it, while many of us could stand even the most expensive bottles of skin care products to take care of our skin, the reality is that there lies in most of us, especially women, a silent dread over those facial lines and wrinkles that seem to come along anytime and which carry the most tell tale signs of skin aging.
Wrinkles and their Causes.
Wrinkles appear as light to deep creases on the skin of the face, especially around the eye area, the neck, and the hands. Commonly, we think that they are a mere natural part of aging, but then, they are a result of this plus some other factors, such as:
Repeated Facial Expressions.
How you smile, how you frown or raise your eyebrow, make that wacky face, squint your eyes, and other repeated facial gestures can create those creases in unexpected areas of the face.
Wrinkles start from being fine lines, called dynamic lines, which appear with the movement of the facial muscles, and if left untreated, will eventually become deeper, static lines, in which they remain there unchanged with your facial expression.
Who does not love the sun, especially at the beach during the summer?
Sun exposure that lasts for about 15 to 30 minutes at the earliest or latest part of the day can create a chemical change in the skin that helps to transform the Vitamin D that we acquire from food to the type of vitamin D that regulates the calcium in the body, which is essential for the nervous system and in maintaining the strength of our bones and teeth.
However, too much sun exposure especially during the midday and without appropriate sun protection, even on a slightly gloomy day can result to a type of skin aging, called photo-aging.
Believe it or not, studies showed that photoaging can start to damage the skin as early as when one is 4 years old, and its signs lie invisible to the naked eye for years.
In fact, most of the facial wrinkles and sunspots that one gets in his lifetime are caused by photoaging, and much of these have been acquired by his sun exposure during his younger years, about until the age of 18.
What's more, the sunís UVA rays, or aging rays, and UVB rays, or burning rays, have become more harmful today that it was before. This makes it necessary for all of us to shelter ourselves everyday by the use of facial masks products, including facial masks that offer sun protection, not only to shun our skin from photoaging, but also to prevent skin cancer.
How and why does aging cause wrinkles?
Science has the specific answers to this, but in the simplest terms, our daily routine, our lifestyle, practically, everything that we do have a lot to say about how our skin ages. All of these activities, i.e., from donning our basic needs, like eating the right kind of food, getting a good amount of sleep, working in-front of the computer, to hanging out with friends over coffee and cocktails, and taking an out-of-town vacation can create certain biological and chemical changes in our body.
Some of these activities, however, like exposure to tobacco smoke, computer radiation, the air pollutants like dust, vehicle smoke, and chemicals, among the others can create the harmful free radicals in our skin cells, which refer to the tiny chemical substances that are frequently the by-products of chemical processes.
The Aging Effects of Free Radicals.
Free radicals have at least one unpaired electron, which makes them unstable. Normally, they take an electron from another chemical to become stable, which makes the other chemical now unstable, or a free radical. On the process, this chain reaction can affect the collagen, the proteins, the hyaluronic acid, and all other substances in the skin cells.
In effect, the cells' walls will chip away, making holes, so that cells leak, deplete or lose the essential cellular substances, and ultimately become dysfunctional. Nevertheless damaged by these free radicals, these skin cells undergo their usual division process and reproduce equally damaged and dysfunctional skin cells, in that they tend to be unable to retain moisture for the skin, protect the skin from the sun's UV rays and from everything that can harm it.
That's why, talking about the skinís health, free radical damage can be construed as the progression of skin aging, and its ill results can become apparent in the form of wrinkles.
How to Achieve a Wrinkle-Free Skin?
Apparently, wrinkles take time to appear and their causes and cure lie simply within our hands. This tells us that there is much that we can do to prevent them from taking toll on the skin, and some of these are by doing the following tips:
Incorporate antioxidants into your daily habit.
Antioxidants have a way to lend their electrons to free radicals to stabilize the latter without damaging themselves. This way, they help to protect free radical damage in the skin cells, thereby deter skin aging and wrinkles.
You can get these antioxidants from certain fruits and vegetables, like foods that are rich in Vitamins C and E, and antioxidant-rich skin care products, such as facial masks.
What makes skin care products a good source of antioxidants?
Think about this: Roughly, only a minute of the percentage of the antioxidants that we take into the body reach the skin cells because of the body's overall demand for them.
Our epidermis Ė the part of the skin that gets the most exposure to the sun and the environment - does not even have access to direct supply of blood in order for it to obtain such antioxidants. Can you just afford to leave such part of the skin unattended? Maybe yes, but not when you find that others don't have these wrinkles, while you do.
Facial masks, especially, are designed to provide nutrients onto the deeper areas of the skin, and address the various skin problems at its very source, as well as nourish your skin cells with antioxidants.
Be particular about choosing your skin care products.
How your skin looks reflect how much you take good care of it and, while there is much to be grateful for these days than ever as we are offered with skin care products for our various skin needs Ė from face soaps, facial masks, face toners, to name a few - good skin care regimen won't work with the wrong set of products.
Therefore, choose the ones that are well-suited for your skin and be wary about their ingredients. Organic-based products work equally, even much better, than chemical-based products.
Make sunscreen your best friend.
Make it a habit to take advantage of the skin care products that offer sun protection, such as facial masks with Aloe Vera and Sclutera extracts, and Rose Oil, which help to shield the skin-damaging rays of the sun and protect your skin from wrinkles.
Look Like You are in Your 20s Even When You are in Your 40s.
Remember that once, you had the smooth and rosy complexion of youth and such characteristics of beautiful skin are still within your reach, despite being faced with a hectic lifestyle and the various factors that lead to skin aging, and it is never at all impossible to gain or maintain your youthful skin because skin care products, such as facial masks, are here to let you make that happen.
