Types of Facial Peels

There are two (2) common types of facial peels: Professional Facial Peels and Home Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Facial Peels.

Professional Facial Peels

Professional peels are chemicals peels that are done for you by a dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon. Chemical peels need a doctor’s supervision because they remove a larger layer of skin from your face. Another professional peel is the superficial peel which does not need an anesthetic and need less recovery time. Deep peels remove a lot of skin and need anesthesia. A popular professional peel is the PCA peel, which uses alpha hydroxyl acids, or AHA, and other ingredients to address different skin conditions. They are usually used to treat cystic acne, sun damages, pigments discoloration and aging affects. Often PCA peels don’t need any anesthesia.
