About Large Pores
You don't need to airbrush large pores anymore. How do large pores look like?
Now, it is obvious that large pores are very visible and sometimes annoying, but to some who are unaware, get a mirror and see for yourself. If you try to observe there are tiny holes surrounding the areas of the skin at your face; especially the nose. Large pores are very prominent when the pores are clogged. It is common that large pores got some white heads or black heads attached to it. Enlarging of the pores results from further accumulation of oil, dirt or debris that directly deposit on the pores of the skin.1
Causes of Large Pores
Here are some of the top reasons for large pores:
Genetics.
Probably having the genes of having large pores is the most annoying reason you can’t do away with. It is easily predictable that if most of your family members got large pores, you will have it too.
Too much oil in the skin.
Oily skin usually attracts more debris or dirt around the surface of the skin thus causing an enlarged pore. In this case, the skin appears to thicken.
Skin damage from sun exposure and aging.
Aging comes to be hand-in-hand with sun damage. Sun exposure gets the skin to repay. This usually makes the skin thick and get more deposits around, therefore resulting to large pores.
Inappropriate use of make–up.
You can find cosmetics which can cause large pores. Actually, the blame is not all in the make–up, but also to proper hygiene. Remember that it is always important to wash off the make–up as soon as you don’t need it. This lets more deposits set in the pores and another hindrance for the skin to shed dead skin cells. All of these fragments from the products and wastes from the body contribute to large pores.
Blackheads.
Since black heads are darker in color, these are usually seen easily. Therefore, it is the most sought after "enemy" having large pores.2
Getting Rid of Large Pores
DIY face steamer.
Soften the skin by steaming the face; this will release the clogged pores. This is very easy; just get a basin filled with hot water. Make sure that the temperature is tolerable then position your face near the basin so that you can catch the steam.
Do some lemon-and-pineapple-juice-action.
Soak a washcloth in lemon and pineapple juices. Put it on your face like a typical mask for at least one minute. This mixture is known to contain enzymes which are helpful to tighten and brighten the skin.
Ice cubes.
Rubbing ice cubes to your face for about 15 to 30 seconds would tighten the skin.
Add more citrus fruits in your diet.
Citrus fruits are known to help firm the skin and rebuild collagen. The effect is having an increased elasticity to the skin, thus reducing pore walls.
Toothpaste.
They say toothpaste? Nobody really proves it that much but, oh well. Just make sure to use it with care.3
