The following are tips for a healthier and younger looking skin...

How to prevent Premature Aging

Growing old is inevitable, but growing old gracefully is an option you can choose. Your skin is the most prominent part of your body that shows when you age. So it’s important to preserve your skin.

Premature aging is mainly caused by excessive smoking and sunlight exposure. The sun is your worst enemy, of course the sun gives life to our planets, it gives us warmth but it also gives wrinkles and age spots. If you care for your skin, try not to expose yourself for long periods in the sun. The Sun’s ultra violet rays both UVA and UVB cause major damage to your skin. These rays go deep into the skin and hinder the skin's natural healing and repair mechanism. Sun can cause skin cancer. If you want to age gracefully, stay for limited periods under the sun and make sure you apply a sunscreen that will protect your skin against the rays.

All of us know that smoking is injurious to health; lung damage, heart damage but it also harms our skin. If you want to keep your skin from aging, do not smoke cigarettes. Tar, nicotine, carbon etc are all chemicals present in cigarettes, they damage your skin’s ability to repair and rejuvenate itself. Cigarette smoke disrupts your skins ability to make collagen; a crucial component of healthy skin. It also hinders the skin’s ability to synthesize Vitamin C; a required component of skin cell reproduction as well as collagen productions. To maintain a nice skin, avoid smoking, ditch those cigarettes.

Drink Lots of Water and exercise

To get a great complexion, you need to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water daily and also do regular exercise. Exercise like running, bicycling, walking or sports activity will give your skin a nice healthy look. When you are doing aerobics, there will be increased blood flow which makes your skin glow. Consuming water and exercise not only helps your skin tone and texture but you also feel more energetic about yourself. You will feel at ease and have a capacity to doing those things you wanted to do, by keeping your body fit.

Eat Healthier

Eat healthy and nutritious food; try to avoid eating pizza, chocolate, fries, fast food, soft drinks etc, which will make your face oily and full of acne. Such food is bad for your skin. Do not overeat. Ensure you don't eat greasy food when eating a healthy balanced meal.

Monitor sun exposure

When you are in the sun, use a moderate strength sunscreen, this will protect your skin against skin damage, skin cancer, aging and premature wrinkles. Excessive sun exposure can cause your lips to blister. Sunburned skin will peel off leaving a blotchy and sensitive skin. Don’t stay in the sun for long and even when you are in the sun, always try to use a sunscreen with SPF 15 or more.

Practice a regular Cleansing Routine

To keep your skin healthy, you need to cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturize your skin on a daily basis. Once you have determined your skin type, choose a gentle skin cleansing solution. Cleanse your face in a circular motion and then rinse with warm water. After skin cleansing, do an exfoliation. Using an exfoliant product, to smooth rough areas and remove dead cells, which then allows the face to have better moisture. After this you can use a toner or an astringent to tighten skin and remove any makeup or cleanser residue. You can use facial mask as an alternative to a toner, weekly once. A facial mask will handle clogged pores at the same time firms your skin and leaving it soft and silky smooth.

You can then pat your skin dry with a soft towel, leave some water. Apply a moisturizer with or without sunscreen, to protect the skin from dryness. People with oil skin do not have to moisturize as often as people with dry, normal or combination skin.

Use a Facial Mask Regularly

You need to use a face mask 1-2 times a week. Regular cleansing will remove grime and surface dirt, only a facial mask can draw out waste products from beneath the top layers of the epidermis. Using a facial mask will help exfoliate dead skin cells and unclog pores. Facial masks are great in stimulating blood circulation and leaving your skin smoother and softer.

This is precisely what our facial masks do. Our face masks help to keep your skin free of dirt and make your skin glow. Don’t use facial masks more then 4 times a week; it can suck all the natural oil from your facial skin. This will induce your skin to produce more oil, then normal.
